We Are The CHAMPIONS!!!!!

I have had that song in my head ever since November 14th!!! I have been waiting to post about this for so long now!!! So since July Jack and his team have been practicing hours on end every week. We started with 5 days a week, 2 hours a day for five weeks. Then went down to three days a week, 2 hours a day and games on saturdays. When you are five that is a HUGE commitment, and as a parent even a bigger one. Some of our friends who are in the organization as well kept telling me "Your team is so good, you could never practice and still kill all these teams!" But let me just tell you, it all paid off. Not only were our boys undefeated with a record of 12-0 but they went on to SUPERBOWL and WON!!!!! It is amazing to me how a 5-7 year old sport is so intense, and so rewarding and so much fun!!

Friday the 13th was the Cowboys last practice... as a parent, its bittersweet. Its a lot of gosh darn time, energy, MONEY, and mostly time lol for that whole 3 and a half months. But we made some great friends that we spent ALOT of time with and had such a good time that this being the last practice was sorta sad. The moms went to Starbucks for an hour to make posters for our little guys and decorate cars for tomorrows big game. We got back just in time to watch the boys last flea ball game and hear Coach Roberts last after practice speech.

Afterwards we went to dinner with Grandma and Grandpa and Ethan and Lari. Well Jack decided his stomach hurt. He didnt eat at all, which, if you know Jack, is not normal. On our drive home he throws up in the car. ARE U FLIPPIN KIDDIN ME?!?!?!? Wyatt had it the week before so i thought we were outta the woods. Apparentely not. But the day before his superbowl?!?! CMON! He was up barfing til 130am. I was up laying next to him til 330am when I finally assumed it was safe to fall asleep. Then was up at 645am with him because he wanted to play! He was ok all day. Didnt eat anything, or drink really. But he played and felt alright. Im assuming a little weak though from having nothing in his tummy. Well I was not about to keep him home from his last game. His superbowl. No way. He had been talking about superbowl since August. I didnt tell a soul he had been sick all night (I know moms, dont judge, No one got sick after tho :) and somehow he wanted a bean burrito on the way to the game. He ate and had a gatorade was ready to go!

We all met at Starbucks at 430pm and headed to South Gate HS in LA. We were set to play Inglewood in the Superbowl. We had been warned about this team. Vulgar parents, mean kids. But none of us expected this huge dad with long dreads and a jersey that said "B NASTY" on the back to walk into the gates and see our teams, coaches, kids, parents, familys, and bark at us! YES HE BARKED AT US!!! Then screams "Im hungry for some Cowboy meat tonight, mmm Cowboy meat!!!" WHAT?!?!?!? What country have I landed on! These are 5 and 6 year old kids. I just kept thinking, holy crap, lets please blow them outta the water!! And shut this loud, obnoxious piece of trash, man up! Ughhhh. Then we get to our side of the bleachers and Inglewood wont go to their side, they sat on our side just to piss us off! I mean cmon, grow up! You wonder why kids are so awful these days. Insane, this was gonna be a long game!
Our game started at 730pm, it was freezing. And I just kept hoping that Jack was feeling up to playing. Well he did!! Our kids come running through the huge Cowboys banner and first play of the game we ran it for touchdown!! These kids played the game of their little lives! It was AWESOME! Our parents were so pumped, yelling, screaming, shaking our cans. And boy did they shut those Inglewood parents up. I have never heard a team get so silent. Me and my big mouth finally said to mr dreadlock BNASTY man... "Hows that cowboy meat tasting now?" I know, Im a bitch but man, someone had to put the guy in his place. Best game!!! Our little men won their first superbowl!!!! 27-13. And it was AMAZING!!! Seriously i dont think I have ever been so proud to be a part of something.... and seeing those kids and coaches dance around that field afterwards was priceless.

After the game Coach Robert took the kids and made one last speech to those smiling faces! Well that was after he got a water jug full of ice cold water thrown on him (Jack was standing next to him too so you can imagine how soaked he was!). They had their last Cowboy cheer and even though it was 915pm, we all headed to Lamppost back home for pizza and beers :)

CONGRATULATIONS JUNIOR FUTURE LEAGUE COWBOYS!!! 2009 SUPERBOWL CHAMPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
