.... Laughlin to Havasu and back was a night mare! But I wont go there yet. LONG ANGRY POST*** BEWARE!!! Mildly entertaining though I must say, not too many pics due to camera issues. Lets start..... here.... We finally got our adult trip we had been longing for. Dropped the kids at Marc and Brandi's for the weekend and we headed to the river. We got there late thursday night and being the ever so smart girls that we are, Gianna and I went to bed while the boys went and partied, weird I know. Next morning we were set, normal 730am meet time to be on the water by 9ish... ahhhh how nice it was to step out into the 110 degree desert weather. All we needed now was the lake. Butttt, errrrkkkkkkkkk..... as Luke pulled the boat up to the front of the hotel to pick us up he broke the news, dead battery, gotta go to walmart for a new one. Ughhhhh. So we told Jake to go ahead and go and our boat would meet them out there. We go to walfart and get a battery, change the battery, (did I mention its 110 degrees) and are all ready to get on the water, ahhhhh and errrkkkkkkkk.... we then realize the tire on the trailer is leaking air. REALLY?!?! C'MONNNN!!!! So we take it to a little tire place down the street. No big deal, we sit in the car for about a half hour while they patch it. The clocks a tickin and Im itchin to get on the lake (Im super impatient when it comes to getting my river rat butt on that water!). Its done, good as new, sorta. We drive to the launch, with Bmoe and Lala following us. She calls and says, "i gotta pee so bad we'll meet you at the launch, Bmoe knows where it is!" They turned somewhere to go pee apparentely. We get to the launch, the launch I despise cuz we always get stuck. Boat is in water... ahhhhhhh.... then errrrrrkkkkkkk!!! Where the eff are Bmoe and Lala!! We wait, and wait, and call them, and wait... sat on the boat next to shore for 20 minutes. Bmoe got lost. Finally I see them coming down the hill and then they are on the boat! AHHHHHHH! Yessssss, GO LUKE!!!! By now its only like 11am, only a few hours late, pshhhhhhhh! Precious lake time. Grrr. Us, San Filippos, Vallez's, Fitch's, Badrauns, Stacys and Bmoe and Lala just sat in our cove and relaxed. Probably the best day Ive ever had on the lake. Played a little bocce (I won, weird!) and did some tubing, had some drinks and just laughed. It was so nice. The day had come to an end and we go back to the launch after a near perfect day. We back our car in to get the boat out, stupid launch there is a pain and somehow I end up in the drivers seat having to back in more... and more... and more.... and they finally get the boat on and I pull out. I open my door at the top and errrrrrkkkkkk.... water comes pouring out. We had flooded my car. So much that my stereo didnt work. UGHHHH! So not a good day. Oh and somehow a part on our trailer broke too. John was coming out that night with his boat so we decided our boat was cursed for the weekend and we would divide the six of us onto the other two boats for our drive down to Havasu the next day. We had a good normal Laughlin night, did some gambling, some drinking, and headed to bed. Next morning we meet downstairs and are ready to hit the water!! Gianna and I jumped on Jakes boat while the others got on Johns. Well we were in the water waiting for them to launch and errrrrkkkkkkkk.... Johns pulling his boat out of the water. He had a dead battery!!!!! SERIOUSLY!?!? This is outta control. We let the river take us a hundred yards then drove back up, over and over and over, it was hot, really hot. I opened a beer. Then two, then three eventually. We waited for a good 45 minutes or so. Finally its ready, we are ready! Wooohoooo! We make the long drive to the sandbar, stopping a few times to jump in the freezing cold river water. Ahhh so nice. And finally we get to the sand bar. We hang out there for a few hours... I played a nice game of lets see how many people I can tackle. Shawn started it. He got me good outta nowhere so then I got him even better! Then I got Jenny, Jeff, Gary, Kyle, Jake, Bmoe and even Robert who said I would never get him!!! Creamed him! It was fun. We go back on the boats and headed to Havasu for some Papa Leones pizza! And of course some Tremors and pool time at Kokomos. Oh how i missed our day trips down to Havasu. Johns boat went back a little before we did. But we took Luke and Gary with us. We leave the channel and are heading back up river to go home after the long day. Some of the lame guys, wont name names, eh hem Shawn, Jake and Jeff eh hem, decided it would be fun to jump off the back of the boat while we were driving... our hearts jumped, stomachs dropped and then we saw heads pop up, which led to the rest of us wanting to flail our fists at them. But at least they were safe.... we turn around to get them back on the boat and errrkkkkkkkkkkk.... here comes the cops. Like this weekend couldnt have had anymore mishaps right?! WRONG! It leads to gettting stupid tickets for not having a certain life vest and the idiots who jumped off the back of the boat, getting lectured and Robert, who was driving having to go with them to take an hour long DUI, BUI I guess, test. He passed but the rest of us had to sit there for an hour trying not to float too far down river cuz we needed to save gas to make it to Topak. As were sitting there we get a call from Johns boat errrrkkkkkkk.....they had hit the sand bar and ran outta gas and had to be towed all the way to Laughlin by a poor kid on a jet ski! This weekend was ridiculous. After they finally gave Robert back to us, we started back up river, got to Topak and got $40 worth of gas thinking NO PROBLEM, we'll make it to the hotels! It got dark, and cold, and we watched lightning in the distance and bats flying overhead, but I forgot how awesome it was to be on the river at night. One of the best things ever I think. Then all of the sudden... errrrkkkkkkk...... we ran outta gas! I was done by then, I just wanted a bed and some water and food. Somehow all these drunk guys manage to get our boat to the side of the river as were flying downstream in the river current and beach it next to this park. Us girls got off and stood on land for awhile and tried making calls for someone to rescue us. By now its about 930pm. Finally it dawned us to call John. We managed to get him directions and he brought us gas. Enough gas to get back to the hotels anyway and get the damn boat outta the water. He didnt want us girls back on the boat so we went with him. Ahhh finally back to the hotel and on our way to get taco bell when errrkkkkkkk.... John gets pulled over for speeding (while I am sitting on the floor of his Escalade scrambling to share a seat belt with someone, forgetting Im in AZ and there are no laws there!!). Then we get to Taco Bell, finally I just wanna taco for goodness sake... John orders and errrkkkkkk...... they ran outta ground beef!!!!!!! This night was outta control. As we are sitting there trying to figure out how taco bell runs outta ground beef at 930 on a saturday night, errrrkkkkk.... the boys call, they ran outta gas again right before the hotel. So we spent another hour finding them gas, finding them on the side of the river, getting gas in the boat and finally we pulled it out. No worries, it was only MIDNIGHT!!!! Needless to say, there is a reason we rarely get adult trips anymore. But honestly, probably one, if not THE, best river trip Ive ever taken. Go figure.
