Superstars!

Jackson had his first football banquet after quite the exciting year of flag football. It was awesome. It was at the Norman P Murray Center, Italian food catered, they showed the highlight video which was awesome, gave out trophys and awards and then some!! Luke got a big basket from the team mom, for all his help all season long on the field. So he and two other dads got a six pack of beer, complete with their own personal Cowboys labels... Lukes was called King Kong Brew. We were asked to give a quote to the team mom at the end of the year for the books she made for the team. A quote that you said to your child, or portrayed your child, or he said, whatever... so Luke sent in Jacks "King Kong aint got nothin on me!" LOL He was so right!! Hence the King Kong Brew.

There were some other little prizes in there as well. But nothing compared to the kids baskets. HOLY MOLY! I swear our team mom was superwoman! Jacksons basket was filled with goodies. A stuffed cowboys football, a plastic football, cowboys stickers, keychains, a cowboys backpack with their names on them, a NICE fitted cowboys hat, and best of all a Championship jacket. They all got windbreaker jackets with all their teammates names on the back and superbowl champions, etc etc. They were awesome. She did such a great job!!! They were some lucky boys. They got their Championship trophys, which Jack was pumped about cuz it was "the biggest trophy hed ever had!" Jackson was also awarded with a scholar athlete certificate and patch. Throughout the season we had to bring in good grade papers every week and the kids with the most stars/A's or whatever (not much in k-2 grade) at the end of the season got awards, so Jack was a "scholar athelete".
And all the coaches said a speech about each player and they all got an individual award. Well Coach Chris (as you all know him, Chris Badraun) gave Jacks speech. He was so pumped to give this speech. Jackson was like his baby out there. And I had a HUGE amount of comfort knowing that Jackson had Chris out there with him. For those who dont know, Chris and I go way back. WAAAY back lol. We were best friends throughout hs, lived together when we were 20/21. He married my best friend and now I am lucky enough to have him in Jacksons life, and playing a WAY bigger role than I ever thought he would. Jack had a one up on the other new kids because he already knew 3 out of 4 of the coaches, since the day he was born, they were all the Badraun brothers, so I know it gave him some extra confidence coming into this. However, Chris didnt even think Jackson would make it all season. Being the youngest, smallest kid out there, and being put on the line. HA! I wasnt sure if he would make it. And look what happened. The kid destroyed people, 2 at a time most plays!! Kids 2 or 3 times bigger than him! CRAZY!! Chris was there all season, not giving him special treatment but pushing him and giving him more and more confidence along the way, but in a way he knew Jack would respond, ok so a little special treatment I guess :) . And Jackson listened to him and knew him and ADORES Chris so did everything to please him as well. They had a special little bond out there ;0) So needless to say Chris had been talking about making Jacks speech for weeks!!! So when it came time, poor Christopher was so nervous he could barely spit out words. LOL But it was cute, and he got his point across, and he awarded Jackson with the award as the Most Improved Offensive Player of the Year. VERY much deserved. We were some proud parents, I know Chris was too ;)!
