What a Weekend!

My o my where do I begin.... I was really looking forward to the 4 day weekend, Luke would be home, Jack didnt have school, we could get ready for the next holiday and maybe even hang out with our friends. Nothing quite works out the way you want it to though.....

Thursday was a good day, you have already heard about that. Then friday rolled along, I thought we would take out all our xmas stuff, decorate the tree, hang some lights. However, Luke decided he was going to be sick, again. He spent most of friday laying in bed watching tv, and sleeping. The kids and I put up a tree up in the playroom and decorated it and began to rummage through our xmas stuff. When I finally put them down for naps, Luke came upstairs and said "Im going to the dr." Only thing I could think of was "Well, shit!" This stupid sinus thing will not stop haunting him. The dr gave him yet some more antibiotics (i can imagine his immune system is just totally shot by now) and he came home and slept some more, and some more. So Im sure you can all guess what that meant for me.... yup, i was sleeping in the bonus room on the couch, again.

On saturday we began decorating, and o my gosh you would never believe how much stuff we had. But it looked good at the end of the day and that was all that mattered. When I finally put the kids down for a nap, I went and ran errands with Caley. She needed a bunch of stuff for the tree and I wanted to get some lights so Luke could start the outside when he felt better (which i knew wouldnt be that day!) By the time we were done it was 530 and we were starving. Luke was feeling like abslute crap so I went to get him a pizza and Cal and I took the boys to Lamppost to meet some friends. The poor boys had been couped up for two days with their sick dad so they needed the break as much as I did. Afterwards, Caley decided she wanted to conquer the tree her parents gave her. So we had a glass of wine, and began. Well after two hours and four or five falling trees, we decided it was a lost cause. What a night mare! She ended up buying a new stand the next day and getting it up no problem. Figures huh.

Sunday Luke woke up a bit more chipper to say the least and was ready to put up lights, thank god!!! So he went out around one and began. Our street rented a huge crane so everyone could do their 2nd and 3rd story roofs and Luke kept thinking he could use a ladder. HAHAHAH! These roofs are sooo steep. I laughed at him. So the thought ran through our mind to use the crane, however it would cost us $150 and we would have been using it in the dark cuz it was the last day we had it and there were two or three people ahead of us. So we just did the bottom of the house, and the tree which was hilarious. I think the last and final finshing touch was the 8ft snowglobe on the front lawn. The house turned out good and we were might proud of ourselves. Jackson kept asking if he could go inside the snow globe and play. We were dying. The kids played outside the whole time on their bikes, and Wyatt who refused to wear shoes (so his fathers child) was a black dirty mess. Jack did his usual flamingo moves for us on his razor. We ate dinner and watched the Eagles game (ummm, great game, I think Mcnabb needs to be traded ASAP!). And of course we went out to admire our lights when it really got dark.
I dont think I told you but I am DONE xmas shopping! Luke and I went two weekends ago and did everything. My parents took the kids for the day and they went and had lunch at the harbor and walked around and bought big sharks that they are obssessed with now. Luke and I had the whole day to just get stuff done. First we went to lunch, a quiet kid free lunch (we even sat at the bar to eat and have a drink, or two, or three) and it was so nice. We never get to do that. Then it was off to shop. I was so excited. Now I can not stress about xmas shopping and enjoy the season. Are you jealous yet???? I emailed all my siblings to ask them what their kids wanted/needed so it made shopping a bit easier. And they asked what the boys wanted so it was nice to actually figure it all out amongst ourselves rather than winging it with a bunch of random junk. So excited to be finsihed though!

I had to add this picture of Jack from last night. We got home from looking at xmas lights and he and his brother were admiring the big globe (and trying to knock it over). Jack started dancing around and we kept asking him if he needed to go potty. Finally he just turned around, whipped down his shorts and peed on the front walk way, for all the neighbors to see. SOOO embarrassing! Then he stood there with his pants down around his ankles like he wanted everyone to see.... Luckily there were only two neighbors out at the time. BOYS!!!! O and later we were wrestling and he called me a BUTT NUGGET!!!!! AHHHHHHHHAHAHHAHAHAH! I was dying....

ANYWAYS.......... HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!! (sorry kinda blurry but for some reason I couldnt get it to come out good, Im assuming becuase of the lights!)

I sure wish that boy would stop getting sick. He needs to see an ear, nose and throat specialist and get his sinuses fixed. Your house looks very nice and I'm jealous you have your shopping done. I can't believe he peed on the sidewalk, he's not my grandson because he would have at least used the flowerbed.

Your Christmas lights and decorations look great and I'm SO jealous you're done shopping. I need to give you my list and have you take care of it for me. Just send me the bill. :)

Wow, nice job on the decorating! We are having our first Christmas on our own (sad huh) so we just got a tree and a couple ornaments, etc. By the way, we have the same stockings! I'm jealous that you are done with your shopping already. I thought I was doing pretty good at about half done, but you blew me out of the water. Now you can kick back and enjoy!
