A Good Cause

Most of you may know, but every year our good friend John hosts our annual Halloween party. Every year it has gotten bigger and every year has been more successful. We have known John since high school and Luke and him have been great friends for a very long time. We are very lucky to have him in our lives and our kids lives. They love Uncle John! (and his swimming pool!) But he has the biggest heart and has beenvery very successful as long as I have known him. There arent very many people our age that have done the great things he has and opened his heart to the ones in need. He is a great friend and just an all around great person. And I love being a part of the things he does.... John throws this party at his house in MIssion Viejo, has an open bar (3 of them this year), a DJ, Securtiy at his front gate(at the bottom of his long hill driveway), a film crew (this year from HDNet so it will be on TV) and a photographer. This year he expecting about 500 people, a very strict guestlist. And this year it is mandatory to donate to a good cause. At the gate when you check in with security you will be expected to leave a check. All the money raised is going to two charities. The first is Childrens Hospital in Oakland, which is what we donated to last year. The second is Hill View Acres Childrens Home. This party is one we look forward to every year and the fact that John is making it better and better every year is even more exciting. Luke and I are there to help set up, carve pumpkins, hang decorations, string lights, all the good stuff. And at the end of the night its such a good feeling to have been a part of it. John has a website where he talks about all the details, price, charities, how you can help, etc etc. If there is anything you want to do to help it would be much appreciated! John throws events like this all year long so I will keep you updated on other charities were helping or events he is planning. So dont hesitate to help, there are alot of kids out there who arent as fortunate as mine or yours, and just to put one little smile on their face this holiday season makes all your effort so worth it!

Last year setting up....

The party... well just a few pictures from it!

Does he live in the neighborhood behond the Albertson's near Mission? I have been hearing about how there is someone from one of our gradutaing years that lives there and has a long ace driveway. I thought it might be him. I know his neighbors and they really like him. Sounds like Halloween will be a blast. Have fun!
