Day 7...

Im starting this one off cheesey... But after the incident I just witnessed its pretty appropriate. Today after i picked Jackson up from school me and "his girlfriend's" mom took the kids to lunch at TGIFridays. Well towards the end of our lunch a group of older men and women walked in to celebrate a bday (hand fulls of balloons and presents). They were just sitting down at their table when one of the old men fell to the ground. We couldnt see what was going on right away but it looked like someone had had a heart attack or something. Finally they moved all the tables outta the way and we saw an older man sitting against the wall with his eyes closed and they were fanning him with menus. Finally after a few minutes, the fire truck and paramedics arrived and shortly after they did, the man had fallen over and they were giving him CPR. Then it got a little more chaotic, more paramedics arrived with all kinds of eqiupment. They had then ripped open his shirt and started doing the little shocker things on him, i just kept hearing all kinds of numbers followed by a "CLEAR!" over and over... On our way out we were walking through this group of people who were witnessing their friend lying on the ground and they were just numb and helpless and crying and all I wanted to do was be the creepy stranger who told them it was all going to be ok. Just reminded me of how precious and fragile life is.... and how much you cherish the ones around you. Day 7 of my things I love was already supposed to be friends... and I dont think I could have picked a better day.

We are honestly two of the luckiest people alive to have the friends that we do, old and new. And no matter how long they have been around each one has shaped us into the people we are today. Our circle of friends keeps growing as everyone is getting married and starting new relationships.... and we are so fortunate. As much as I complain about being so busy all the time, I wouldnt have it any other way... cuz these times spent with friends, for bdays or weddings or showers or trips, are the days we will always remember. I really dont know what I would do without them and cant fathom the possibilty of not having them someday. They are all so great in their different ways and would do anything for us in the blink of an eye if we asked, some of them already have. And whether we are playing horseshoes at the river, sittin on a tailgate at an Angel game, dancing at a wedding, or simply just BBQing at someones house we all know they are bonds that cant be broken.... and now we are passing them down to our kids, who are some pretty lucky kids if you asked me to be born into such a great group of people who love them.... So cheesey or not... friends are defintely one of my top loves!!

This was beautifully written, Amy...it touched your heart and you passed it along to all of us to remember our friends - give them a hug and say I love you.
The group of people with the man would have welcomed a hug and caring words from you... a most thoughtful young stranger. Let us all remember to take a moment to let others know that they are important to us.

That was beautiful Amy... how sad to watch, and what a reminder that we have to appreciate each day and the ones we love - and tell them more often that our lives would not be complete without them! Thank you for sharing...
